Psychological Safety

What is Psychological Safety?
Psychological Safety is the held belief that one will not suffer any negative consequences through taking an interpersonal risk. An interpersonal risk might be:
-
Speaking up with an idea in a meeting
-
Challenging the status quo
-
Making a change or admitting to a mistake
Why does it matter in organisational life?
Here at andpartnership we believe that for organisations to deliver consistent results, grow AND have its people learn, develop and thrive, there must be an environment of psychological safety.
What is the impact of having it/not having it?
The levels of psychological safety in a team are heavily influenced by the manager. However, there is a problem. Research suggests that only 26% of managers are creating a psychologically safe environment for their team. We develop individuals, teams and organisations with this.
“I’ve recently had the pleasure of attending a course on psychological safety hosted by Tim. Not only was the subject incredibly interesting and insightful. Tim’s delivery style enhanced the whole experience; knowledgeable, passionate, engaging and challenging. Thank you”
